Host & Moderator

Rev. Jerrold Smith is a, Life Coach, Addiction Counselor and Minister with a deep passion for community service.  He serves as Chairman and CEO of Parkside Economic Development Corporation, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing financial literacy, economic empowerment, wellness, while providing post secondary education support to youth in South Central Los Angeles. Jerrold has spent decades serving his community through civic organizations that provide mentorship, education, and wellness resources. His professional background includes senior roles in sales and marketing with CBS/Viacom, as well as leading his own marketing and advertising consulting firm, 1 Plus One Management, Inc. He also serves as Assistant Pastor of L.A. Third Church for Spiritual Living in Leimert Park. With a unique blend of professional expertise and heartfelt service, Jerrold now brings his passion for helping others to a broader audience as host of Urban Family Focus.

LaRita Shelby

Producer & Announcer

LaRita Shelby, M.A. in Media & Communications Psychology, is a seasoned performer, radio personality, and advocate for mental health. Known for her role in the classic film South Central, LaRita has worked across numerous radio outlets and uses her creative background to inspire others. She is certified through Community Care Licensing and the Department of Health Care Services, and for seven years led a drama therapy group for teens at Star View Behavioral Health Center. At Urban Family Focus, LaRita brings both her media expertise and her passion for healing to the mic.

Tyra Pickett

Social Media Manager

Tyra Pickett serves as the Social Media Manager for Urban Family Focus, bringing over 29 years of experience in executive operations, systems development, and digital strategy. As a Certified International Online Business Manager and accomplished entrepreneur, Tyra is known as the “Queen of Systems, Automation, and Processes.”

She oversees social media, content creation, and community engagement across all platforms, ensuring that every post reflects the show’s heart and mission. She also provides administrative operations support, helping to streamline behind-the-scenes processes and keep everything running with excellence and intention. With her unique ability to blend structure with soul, she allows Urban Family Focus to expand its digital footprint while nurturing authentic, lasting connections with our audience.
