About the Show
Why?
The purpose of this show is to provide a forum for information, education and resources, primarily in the areas of Mental Illness and Addiction, while reducing stigma and enhancing understanding associated with these diseases. Other topics will include Health & Wellness, Financial Literacy and Conflict Resolution. Each show will feature experienced, qualified and certified experts that will offer the knowledge, tools and coping skills needed for individuals and families to enhance their lives spiritually, mentally and physically.
About the Team
HOST AND MODERATOR:
Rev. Jerrold Smith
Rev. Jerrold Smith, Life Coach & Addiction Counselor (RADT)
Rev. Jerrold passionately serves his community through participation with numerous civic organizations that provide youth mentorship, college scholarships, financial literacy, wellness resources and senior support. He’s Chairman & CEO of Parkside Economic Development Corporation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving Leimert Park and surrounding communities. He currently host and moderates The Black Wealth Attainment and Retention Program (BWAARP) in partnership with The Los Angeles Urban League. Rev. Jerrold’s first exposure to LA’s radio airwaves was as host of Universal Faiths Radio in 2016. His latest endeavor as host of Urban Family Focus, on KBLA 1580 in Los Angeles, provides another platform to express his passion for helping others.
Rev. Jerrold ‘s professional career includes a combined 40 years in sales, marketing, advertising and promotions, including sales management positions with CBSNiacom. For 17 years Rev. Jerrold has operated his own marketing, advertising and branding consulting firm, 1 Plus One Management, Inc. He is currently Assistant Pastor of L.A. Third Church for Spiritual Living in Leimert Park.

Ms. Shelby is most known for starring in the urban classic South Central. La Rita is Certified under CCL (Community Care Licensing) and Dept. of Health Care Services and has conducted a drama therapy group at the Star View Behavioral Health Center for teens for seven years. La Rita has worked for many radio outlets and will also serve as a fill in co-host.
